Memories From Adare

We went on a lovely tour of the Desmond Castle ruins with Patrick. We arrived a few minutes after the 10am tour, however he was kind and accommodating, and we ended up going with just our own little group! Patrick was incredibly knowledgeable about not only the castle, but various historical sites throughout the town of Adare as well. He was able to answer all of our random questions about the history and construction of the castle. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!

Dovecote Restaurant is our "go to" as our coffee stop on our way through the wonderful picturesque town of Adare!! Not only is their coffee and array of scrumptious tasty treats 🍪🎂🍰🧁 on display a reason to call, an even better is the oh so friendly and helpful staff!! So lovely to get a warm smile and a little chat as you order, 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐'s to you all!!!

After walking around town for awhile we visited the heritage centre. There was a lot to see and learn in there about the town, it is very interesting and well done. In the same building are a few nice shops and place to eat and drink. Also toilet facilities which are great to find when you’re touring around.

It was my profound privilege to partake in a most distinguished visit to the grounds of Adare village and its noble castle, conducted under the most capable stewardship of Mr. John McMahon. He had impeccable manners with a keen wit, all whilst imparting a treasury of knowledge concerning the illustrious history of Adare. The excursion was an experience of the utmost joy, and I shall, without hesitation, seek once more the honour of his guidance on future occasions.
